Video KYC is considered to be a secure and efficient way of verifying a customer's identity, as it allows the representative to see and interact with the customer in real time, and to compare the information provided with the customer's ID documents. However, it is important for businesses to ensure that their video KYC process is compliant with relevant regulations and that appropriate security measures are in place to protect customer data.
The Video-KYC is allowed to carry out only via a bank’s website or its mobile application. the customer consent should be recorded in an auditable and alteration-proof manner. The video recordings should contain the live GPS co-ordinates (geo-tagging), undertaking the video-KYC and should have a date-time stamp. If there is a disruption in the video-KYC recording, the same should be aborted and a fresh session must be initiated.
